Dear Yuletide Author...

cudaWell! So you ended up with me this year! First off, thank you so much for braving the perils and frustrations of the brand-new Yuletide signup in order to pull my name out of the hat. I'm just vibrating with excitement this year, and I can't wait to read anything that you write for me. The bottom line request from me before I get into the nitty gritty of the fandoms I requested is this: have FUN! I'm going to toss a few things your way, but in the end I want this story to be something you have a ball writing.

Fast & Furious Series
Although I watched all of the movies, I didn't really hit this fandom hard until I watched the fourth movie, Fast & Furious. I went back to the theater to see it no less than eight times, and I staked out the department store to pick it up when it first came out on DVD. Not to mention the hunt through a variety of used video stores to find the first two movies. Let's face it, Vin Diesel just does it for me. Hee.
I'm a fan of Dom/Brian in any capacity, sexual, romantic or not. Their interactions are always charged no matter what they're doing. I just love the way they ping off of one another, keep one another in check, and egg one another on.
I'm curious about Dom's history with Han Lue (from Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift), which we've only gotten hints of. I'd love a story in which Han Lue isn't dead, and Brian gets a chance to interact with him. Did you know that Han's also a character from another of Justin Lin's movies, Better Luck Tomorrow? There's a world of possibility in that character and I'd be fascinated to see someone put it to use.
Something fun with the whole crew from the first movie would be awesome. I love races and car chases, and I also love that montage from the first movie where the team takes a piece of crap burned out shell of a car and turns it into something amazing.
Whatever you do, please acknowledge Letty and Mia's existence. I love those girls, and so do the boys (although I think they're both aware that their respective girlfriends could do so, so much better than them). You don't have to go into a ton of backhistory to explain why Mia and Brian aren't together if he's currently, yanno, fucking Dom. You can, you just don't have to. :D Bonus points if you hook up Mia and Letty. Seriously!
All of the above are entirely optional. I'm cool with anything you want to do if you pick this fandom. Just toss me some Dom and some Brian, please!
National Treasure Series
There's just something magical about National Treasure. I don't know about you, but I've always wanted to tag along with Riley, Ben and Abigail on a treasure hunt. The movies make me feel like I am. Plus, the music--! I can recognize themes from National Treasure from a mile off. Those clever little plucking strings just sound like somebody thinking through a problem.
Ever since I first watched these films, I saw subtext between Riley and Ben. But, that could also be because I like slash! It always feels like unrequited love on Riley's part. Poor guy can never seem to get Ben to pay direct attention to him for more than one question at a time unless he's dangling the answer to a mystery over Ben's head like a feather cat-dancer. Ben's out saving the world by finding treasure and Riley? Well, Riley saves his ass and plays the technologically brilliant henchman.
You don't have to slash them if you don't want to, I'd just love to see Riley and Ben working together. If you want to go whole-hog and write a treasure hunt, well, you'll have me cheerleading! Or they could just be trying to jump-start the van. Or anything in between. It's up to you! Any and all side characters would also be welcome.
One quick thing. If you don't pair off Riley and Ben, please don't pair Ben with Ian. Totally cool with Ben and Abigail, though!
Top Gun
Ohhh, how long have I loved this fandom? And really, there's very little fanfic out there, slash or otherwise. The movie is wonderful, with little bits of hollywood magic and corniness, and the tension between all those arrogant, badass fighter pilots is just delicious.
I'd love to see Maverick/Iceman, Iceman/Slider, or Wolfman/Hollywood. I'd also love a story about Goose and Maverick's friendship, because it's just a force of nature. You can write about these guys in any capacity you feel comfortable with. I'd love to see some serious UST resolve into some serious sex, though, just so you know. ;)
The one thing that's important to me, if you do decide to write slash, is to be aware of how the US military handles both homosexuality and relationships between officers. Back in the eighties, it was still just as taboo to date in the ranks as it is now. But hell, if you offered to write me Top Gun, I bet you know that already, so I'll quit yammering at you!

A couple general things about me:
Things I really like in fanfic
- Humor!
- Shows of courage and self-sacrifice
- Adventure
- Dominant personalities clashing
- Fights and ego posturing
- Sex
- UST so thick you can cut it with a chainsaw
- Happy endings
- Slice-of-life details
- Extended metaphors, especially funny ones
- Light kink. Mild bondage, leather, that sort of thing
- Jealousy and misunderstandings, followed by steamy makeup sex
- Threesomes, foursomes, moresomes!
- Interesting villains/antagonists with fascinating motives
- Cars, motorcycles, plains trains and automobiles and all the fun details that come with them.
Things I'm not so keen on
- Deathfic and sad endings
- Rape or dubcon. If you want to write biting, scratching, wrestling, hardcore fucking, yee, great!! Just so long as both of 'em are into it and okay with what's happening.
- Sexual situations involving kids. Any younger than sixteen is my limit. Cool with romance, just not sex.
- Humiliation kinks.
- Female character bashing
