Crap, I suck.

I accidentally deleted a comment while I was emptying out my inbox. I thought 'hey, there's a little red x over there! I can just hit that and it'll magically disappear from the inbox!'

Well... yeah. And my journal. This whole 'inbox' thing is something I never really understood on Livejournal and I still don't understand over here.

Sorry, [personal profile] senmut! I really did want to keep that comment, I'm just a doof! At least I figured out how to empty my inbox without deleting comments now. *sheepish* I've been MIA for a bit, but that's just because I went to my mother's for the weekend and decided to leave my laptop at my apartment. Less to carry, plus I didn't really plan to do much with the computer. I needed a break. I've been working on a vid for the past few days and hit a wall, so it was a good idea to just leave everything home until I got over being angry at it. XD Those are the times when I'm prone to do something really unintelligent and potentially damaging to my computer.

May be going to the movies this afternoon with my brother. Trying to decide between going to see Fast & Furious for a fourth time, or the new Star Trek movie. I hear it's really good, and I'm looking forward to seeing it eventually. Did anybody else watch the show on the History Channel last night about Christie's auction house selling off millions of dollars' worth of Star Trek props, models, costumes, set pieces and scripts? The U.S.S. Enterprise model went for $200,000. HOMG. What was very cool was that they also had both cast members and producers and set designers from the franchise talking about how much they like Star Trek fans, and how those folks are no different than energetic football fans who wear their favorite players' jersey, paint their faces and wear cheese hats or viking helmets. Though I will admit, listening to two cosplaying Klingons singing "Let It Be" in their native language was... a bit... disconcerting to say the least.

I've been out in Mum's garden weeding radishes. :D

Wow, am I glad to see that people have been working on the F&F Wikipedia entries! Some of the writing in the original article about the franchise was just... incomprehensible. I wanted to help but every time I looked at it I was there for a reason, and my usual response was just "I don't have time." So kudos to whoever took the time and spent the effort on it. It looks much better.

Something under Letty's bio got my attention, though. The following quote references the final, failed attempt to carjack a semi, and Letty's subsequent rollover accident:
"Letty goes with Dom on the final carjacking mission, but soon flips her Honda Civic over, after which Dom tenderly says he loves her."

The Wikipedia phrasing isn't bad. It describes the way it was said without offering any of the aritcle author's opinion, because the way he said it was tender. I like the way it's written, it just got me thinking about that whole small scene.

Inside Line.com does mini editorials on all the Fast & Furious cars. - Additional reference I found completely by accident. Some of you may already have watched these, but they definitely caught my attention! Also, they have some nice articles on the films as well, including where some of the cars ended up post-film. Wanna pay $50,000 for a rebuilt F-Bomb ('70 Camaro) used in the movie? You can apparently bid on them on e-Bay.
